This is the new blogging site I have launched lately, it is really nothing much more than a regular blog site with several summary feed and video feed plugged into it.  Easy and fast hopefully could be useful by some people.

Anyways, how I did it is actually pretty simple.  It is a premade script I am running on there but I will have to find the feed from different sources like youtube etc. so by putting the autmatic feeds into my little scipt. It will automatically check and update the videos according to the popular ranking systems on the different video site by number of clicks per video. So the videos on the site will actually change with time passing by.

Various winged, fanged, and occasionally shimmering thingies from an unseen world manifest themselves in The Spiderwick Chronicles. There's an ogre, a bunch of goblins, a whole lot of fairies, and a house brownie who turns green when angry. These are the nonhuman denizens of a suitably rambling, isolated storybook house that has passed down the family from Arthur Spiderwick (David Strathairn) to a soon-to-be-divorced mom (Mary-Louise Parker) with the telegraphic last name of Grace, her teen daughter, Mallory (Sarah Bolger), and younger twins Jared (the angrier, adventurous one) and Simon (the milder, prissier one; both are played by Freddie Highmore).

To be honest, the magical population is kind of dull — average fantasy creatures (some voiced by Martin Short, Seth Rogen, and Nick Nolte), conjured with standard CGI wizardry in a fancy-grade adaptation from popular children's books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. They're kind of imitative, too — doesn't The Hulk hold the copyright on the green-with-rage issue?

But critters aren't really what the movie is about — otherwise why bring in Mark Waters to direct? After Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, Waters has become a specialist in lively dramas built on family tensions and kid-on-kid turf tussling. And his production is most alive when it ignores the gremlin contingent and goes for the real horrors, which are: (1) Mom and Dad are getting divorced; and (2) Mom doesn't believe her kids when they tell her of the troubles they've seen. (Parker is a pro at embodying female distractibility.)

Spiderwick is set in the present, but goes for an overall design look of dainty, cozy, William Morris-y arts-andcraftiness. After Finding Neverland, that tinge of nostalgia has become a Freddie Highmore thespian specialty. Yet the actor, now 16, is never more affecting than when he, as Jared, fumes with contemporary resentment about the gremlins that have split up his parents and forced him beyond the protective boundaries that once encircled his kid-size universe. B-

Reading week has officially started!

Several things to say here today:

1. I am sorry for the no-post articles for the past week because I was just simply so busy with school and a bit of my personal stuff.  Really midterms after tests after labs after prsentations.  They are not like huge huge prcentages thing but adding them up together it is still a big truck of my mark.  Therefore I decided to focus mainly on school.  Therefore, sorry for the blank blank last week.

2. For this reading week, I want to finish a few things.  number one is to apply more jobs.  I am not sure why several companies I am waiting for haven't replied me last week.  I am a bit worried, but just a little little bit.  I am still very confident I will land on a great job!

3. Besides job hunting, I will have to prepare for my 3 upcoming midterms after the reading week.. really only one week of study.  I haven't done a lot for a course and the other two are hanging on there.  Need to do some catch up!

4. The more important thing I wanted to talk about is actually a few personal projects that I will be working on or to start work on for the next week.  Hopefully they will yield some good results! Share with my readers after a bit when I actually have something to show!

5. Excercise.  I feel like I am a 60 years old.  Need more excercise too!
